FAQs

What should I expect at my first appointment?

1

At your initial appointment, you can expect:

  • A one-on-one, private session

  • Detailed interview of medical history

  • Physical examination, which may include external assessment of the spine, hips, abdomen, lower extremities and/or internal pelvic floor examination

  • Thorough explanation of assessment and personalized treatment plan, tailored to your specific needs and goals

Speak with your primary care physician or pelvic health practitioner about your pelvic health concerns. Ask them to send a referral for a Pelvic Floor PT evaluation to our fax number. Once the referral is received, we will contact you to schedule your first appointment!

How do I get started?

What makes you different?

3

At The Lift, my approach is personal—because this work is personal to me (Natalie). As a former pelvic floor physical therapy patient, twin mom, and South Georgia native, I know firsthand that seeking help can feel vulnerable. My goal is to create a space where every woman feels comfortable, cared for, and confident that she has someone in her corner every step of the way.

How many sessions will I need?

4

This answer depends largely on your initial assessment, however, generally a patient is seen for an average of 6-12 visits depending on many factors (i.e. severity of symptoms, consistency with sessions/homework, complicating medical factors, etc.)

Can I come while on my period?

5

Absolutely! This is never an issue for your therapist. If you typically require internal pelvic floor treatment, we can perform this as usual OR defer it to the next session. There are always other treatment interventions not requiring internal examination/treatment. It is completely based on your personal comfort level, and not an issue for your PT.

What should I wear to appointments?

6

You should always be prepared for movement and comfort. It is not uncommon to perform stretching and exercises during sessions, so make sure you can move well and have closed-toe shoes in case we focus more on exercise.

What is your cancellation or no-show policy?

7

At The Lift, each appointment is reserved exclusively for you. Because we provide one-on-one care and maintain a limited schedule, missed appointments and last-minute cancellations make it difficult to offer that time to another patient in need.

We kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Late Cancellations: Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a $50 late cancellation fee. We understand that unexpected illnesses, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances can happen. These situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of The Lift Pelvic Therapy.

No-Show Appointments: Patients who fail to arrive for a scheduled appointment without prior notice will be charged a $75 no-show fee.

What is your payment policy?

8

A valid credit card will be securely maintained on file. By scheduling an appointment, you acknowledge and agree that applicable late cancellation or no-show fees may be charged to the card on file in accordance with this policy. All payments for therapy sessions are due at the time of service and are non-refundable once therapy services have been provided.
